ABOUT us
The Portman is a charming corner pub that has always punched well above its weight. Rich in history, this site was formerly known as the Mason’s Arms & is said to be the origin of the famous phrase "one for the road!" Today, Becky & her team carry on that tradition of hospitality, making it the perfect Marylebone spot for a quick drink or a long, indulgent meal.
While the bar downstairs is full of character & conversation, our gorgeous upstairs room offers lovely views of Marylebone & has become a go-to destination for local foodies. We pride ourselves on creating a space that feels both historic & fresh, where the quality of the food is matched only by the warmth of the service. It’s a little piece of Marylebone history that we’re proud to share with you.
The Portman is part of Inda Pubs, which was founded in 2012 by James Corbett & has since expanded to an estate of 10 pubs across West London. Our ethos focuses on rejuvenating neighbourhood pubs, re-furbishing & restoring their hidden character through refurbishment & recruiting exceptional operators who are as passionate about food & drink as we are.
